Governments around the world are increasingly using open data to drive policymaking. This event highlighted experiences so far, as well as examining the challenges ahead.

The Open Data Institute (ODI) convened seven individuals from four continents, each leading the implementation of their government’s open data programmes, to create the first cohort of the Open Data Leaders’ Network. During the visit, the participants took part in learning and developing sessions, showcasing the latest thinking in open data. They also met with the Centre for Public Impact, UK Transparency board member, Andrew Stott, and with entrepreneurs based at Google Campus, and in the ODI’s own start up programme.
