The Centre for Public Impact joins call to Biden-Harris Administration: create White House Initiative on Inclusive Growth

A coalition of 50+ impact-oriented organizations advocate for coordinated economic policies that address COVID-19 fall out, racial wealth gap, and climate change

June 24, 2021 - Washington D.C. – The Centre for Public Impact is proud to join the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance, B Lab, and a coalition of 50+ impact-oriented organizations as a signatory on the proposal for a White House Initiative on Inclusive Economic Growth. The White House Initiative would coordinate federal policies designed to reshape and rebuild the economy so it works for all residents. The proposed Initiative’s bold approach would support the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to address three monumental crises facing our nation: the COVID-19 economic fallout, a widening racial wealth gap, and climate change.

“The Centre for Public Impact is working to help governments at all levels build inclusive economies,” said Kevval Hanna, Inclusive Economies Program Director at the Centre for Public Impact, “We advocate for economic structures that prioritize and evaluate human and environmental flourishing, rather than models that look only at macroeconomic trends. We are proud to support the creation of a White House Initiative on Inclusive Economic Growth, which can help our nation move away from models where the most vulnerable are the last to benefit and the first to suffer.”

The Initiative seeks to drive a coordinated policy agenda that refocuses economic players on equitable value creation that promotes quality jobs, thriving communities, and the resilience of our planet. In signing on, the Centre for Public Impact will champion a cross-sectoral approach to building inclusive economies, outlined in the Built for All framework, and urge that all efforts be rooted in power-sharing, local action, and learning.

COVID-19 and its economic impacts brought the deep disparities that have long existed in the U.S. to the forefront. The Centre for Public Impact is committed to working with bold and innovative government leaders to support an equitable and just recovery that opens pathways to individual and community wealth. Through the Initiative, the principles of equity would be placed at the very center of the nation’s economic policymaking apparatus at a moment when our nation has the opportunity - and the imperative - to reimagine economies to better serve all residents and communities.

The Centre for Public Impact is eager to work with fellow signatories to support the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitments to economic recovery, racial equity, and climate change through the creation of a White House Initiative on Inclusive Economic Growth.
