CPI at COP26

Placing people and communities at the heart of climate action

Catalysing action on climate change and a net-zero future

The 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) will take place in Glasgow from 31 October - 12 November 2021, under the presidency of the United Kingdom. It will be a pivotal event, with a focus on countries increasing the ambition of their climate commitments since the Paris Agreement in 2015.

The CPI team and partners will be present at a host of events, focusing on how we can deliver on ambitious climate action by placing people and communities at the heart.

This page will be updated with our latest notes, commentary and events in the run-up to COP26 and throughout the conference. We will add more details as they become available. We hope to see you there!

What we're doing at COP26

We are working with the UK Climate Champion, Nigel Topping, and his team on the Future Labs Marrakech Partnership events, which is part of the Global Climate Action agenda at COP26.

We are also working with our partners at the International Climate Engagement Network on an interactive workshop. This will explore how engaging the voices of citizens, residents, and under-represented communities can lead to better policy-making, while also increasing the democratic legitimacy of difficult decisions and mobilising collective action. You can register for the event here.
